I was raised by a single mother along with an older brother and young sister who suffers from mental retardation and is legally blind. I grow up on the north side of Flint, MI during the crack cocaine era. My father was a dealer turned user of the drug and was never around but only to get money from my mother. I always maintain excellent grades in school. I participated in sports as a reason to not go home. I won medals in every sport and participate in all tournaments. My father stole all my medals for money to buy drugs. At the age of 15, I became pregnant and had my first child at the age of 16. I was told by every adult and even a few peers, that I would never accomplish anything I life due to becoming a teenage mother. I was determined to prove everyone wrong! I continued playing basketball and graduated high school with some athletic scholarship offers. I choose to attend a Historical Black College, Central State University. I started my business with a clientele of 200 client and $5,000. This was four years ago. I'm currently looking to bring in more employees and build a team for my business to grow and offer more services to expand my target market. I would love to open a second location as well. I am now the mother of four boys, one is in grad school at Georgetown University studying Sports Industry Management, one is a sophomore in college studying Mechanical Engineering, one is a junior in high school, and a sixth grader. I believe my entrepreneurial spirit developed from my competitive spirit. I Will Not Lose!
